TASK LIST - Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Welcome and we hope you had a very Merry Christmas. On the last day of 2008 we have a variety of projects for all willing volunteers. Some of these are:

  • Pipe coach lights in house and garage
  • Paint siding
  • Lower ceiling in closet
  • Pipe light and radon vent in attic
  • Anchor conduit in house
  • Install siding around electrical mast
  • Caulk firestops in house
  • Repair soffit
  • and many other interesting gigs.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.

Holiday Schedule

Greetings to all.

The following are days we will be working at the site over the next two weeks.

Wednesday, December 17

Saturday, December 20

Saturday, December 27

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Saturday, January 3, 2009

Lunch will be provided on Saturdays.

Since we have some inside work, weather should not be a major problem.

All are welcome.

Dress Warmly Tomorrow

In spite of a forecast of lousy weather (snow, wind and cold temps) we will be working tomorrow at the build site. Siding installation (house and garage), painting and cleanup are on the menu. Not much going on in the house (for volunteers), with the plumbing (more), electrical and heating things in progress.

If you plan to work outside, think of putting on double layers, windbreakers and head covering. There will be the heated garage as a warming station.

Look forward to seeing you Saturday (December 6).

Happenings at the house include an example of why we put Ice and Water shield at the eves. If you look close, you might notice some damage to the soffits. Another job for Saturday. Here is another view of the house.

If you ever have a question about whether we are working, please call the “HOTLINE” at 847-326-7563. Lee keeps this up to the minute.

Work Day Canceled

There will be no activities at the build site, tomorrow, December 3, because of inclement weather. The forecast of freezing rain and snow makes working on scaffolds too dangerous. Hope to see you all on Saturday, December 6.
